June’s highlights included celebrating throughout our Midwest Wedding Tour, creating custom sticker designs for the Atlanta Botanical Garden, fulfilling many wholesale orders, and delivering my first order to a new shop at O’Hare Airport.

Daniel and I tied the knot on May 24th, 2024 and celebrated with some of our closest family and friends through June 9th

General Updates + Accomplishments:

  • Supplied stickers to Adobe for the Create Now Chicago event. Daniel and I attended the Creative Leaders dinner and Create Now events as unofficial stops on our Midwest Wedding Tour, as they were during our time off.

  • Created a blog post highlighting 20 ways stickers can help grow your business. Stickers have been making up a larger portion of my business lately and I’ve been loving it. I added new pride sticker sheets to my shop. You can also find them via my wholesale page here.

  • Worked to catch up on outstanding inquiries, requests for meetings, and other key follow ups upon returning to work. Please reach out if you’d like to reconnect or work on something together.

  • Designed and produced custom stickers for the Atlanta Botanical Garden. I was asked to create three unique stickers around iconic garden sculpture pieces of Alice’s Wonderland.

  • Delivered my first purchase order to the new Blvd & Branch store in O’Hare Airport. This has been a *long* time coming, as I’ve been working to get my products into O’Hare since 2019. You can currently find select Lettering Works products at Hoypoloi Gallery, The Field Museum, and Blvd & Branch at O’Hare.

  • Completed minor updates to a logo and business card for Haynes Family Chiropractic that I designed in 2019. If you are looking for new branding that will serve your business well for years to come, I’d love to chat about working together.

  • Shared the new custom portrait offering on social media. While these portraits are currently centered around couples, I’m always open to requests for individual portraits and custom illustrations for business purposes.

  • Enjoyed summertime in Chicago. Highlights included attending The Kite Runner, Logan Square Arts Festival, Taste of Randolph, Joffrey in the Park performance, and the Rent the Runway sample sale. We additionally took a weekend trip to Milwaukee to spend time with family, meet my cousin’s new baby, and see Dawes at Summerfest.

  • Wrapped up coaching with Jessica of Frittata Consulting, which was part of our trade for her logo design. Over six sessions, we explored themes of personality, strengths, and desired feeling states in addition to strategizing for Lettering Works business growth.

  • Announced that I’ll be a speaker at the upcoming Insure Equality Summit on August 26th in Chicago. My one-hour talk is titled “Unleashing the Power of Generosity in Community Building”. I’ll also be presenting to the Lifestyle Business League and at the upcoming Typism Summit on passion projects.

  • Kept up with typical business tasks like restocking Neighborly, Wolfbait & B-Girls, the Milwaukee Art Museum, and more. As well as payed my Q2 estimated taxes and started planning for Q3.

The first half of June was filled with lots of love and celebration as we closed out our Midwest Wedding Tour. After so much joy and over two weeks of being unplugged, getting back to work has felt good. I am excited to continue to line up new branding and custom merchandise projects, as well as continue to fulfill all of the wholesale orders that have been coming in.

In July, I am looking forward to continuing to enjoy summertime in Chicago, sharing my insights on passion projects with the Lifestyle Business League and through guesting on more podcasts, and participating in the Faire Summer Market. Reach out if you’d like to work together!
