Branding the Newest Event to Come to the Warehouse District

Easter Seals turned to Lettering Works to brand their new fundraiser intending to usher in a younger generation of donors. We worked to bring a new energy to the event’s promotional materials and help transition it from being known as “Wines and Polo on the Prairie” to “Wines in the Warehouse District.”

Wines in the Warehouse District Logo

The final logo for the event has a mix of lettered styles and a warehouse building illustration to help ground the aesthetic and brand in the Warehouse District, where it is planned to be held for years to come. Easter Seals is bringing the event to one of the newest developments in the Warehouse District - Venue Chisca at The Block. The event is promising to be a night of cigar-rolling, dancing, and, of course, wine.

Wines in the Warehouse District Color Scheme

The Warehouse District itself and a hope for summer warmth inspired the color scheme for the new brand. The bold and rich colors provide some sophistication while working to make the event welcoming and more accessible to a younger generation of donors.

Wines in the Warehouse District Social Graphics

The brand development project consisted of logo creation, color and typography selection, as well as a branded graphic. The event is being dubbed “The Party of the Summer” and that custom graphic is being used across social media and promotions to help set the tone for the fundraising party.

A QUICK LOOK BEHIND THE SCENES

Two initial design concepts for “Wines in the Warehouse District”

Two initial design concepts for “Wines in the Warehouse District”

The initial approach for designing this brand was modern and very wine-focused because of the name. After digging a little deeper into the reasoning behind the name and transition to the Warehouse District venue, we shifted focus from a visual of wine to more incorporation of the Warehouse District itself through an illustration of The Block. I personally loved the bold direction of the stacked letters of “WINES” as I feel it’s an approach that hasn’t been seen in Peoria but is reminiscent of more trendy and experimental wine label design. Ultimately, the group felt the second direction was easier to read and more welcoming overall.
